The Kunchan Smarakam is located at Lakkidi in Palakkad district of Kerala. Kunchan Smarakam is the memorial of the famous poet, Kunchan Nambiar, and is not a conventional monument. At Kunchan Smarakam, where the inventor of the satirical art form was born, young artists are trained in the various divisions of the art form. In addition to Thullal, the Kunchan Smarakam celebrates the Navarathri festival in a majestic way. The birthday of the great poet falls on the 5th May and is celebrated with great fanfare.
