Yoga is a way of life that seeks balance between
mind, body and spirit. The science of Yoga originated in India. Yoga
literally means union of the body, mind and spirit. The present form of
Yoga that we practice today is commonly called as Hath Yoga, formalized
by Patanjali. Hatha Yoga comprises of a series of postures/asanas, which
provide flexibility to the body and tone muscles. It is amazing to note
that a combination of various asanas provide a complete workout and
provide physical and mental relaxation to the body. The concentration as
well as the breathing exercises of Yoga form an essential part of Yoga
training. Yoga has been an inherent part of the cultural and heritage
ethos of the Kerala society for ages. With passage of time, numerous
Yoga centers and Yoga Ashrams have developed all over Kerala, making it
a great destination for Yoga training. Another thing that makes Kerala a
great Yoga destination is the natural beauty and environment of the
state.
