located on the banks of Vembanad Lake; Alleppey or Alappuzha was one of
the best-known ports along the coast of Malabar in the past. The
commercial lifeline of Aleppey is the backwaters and a wide network of

enjoy the natural beauty of the Backwaters of Alappuzha, Kettuvallam or
the houseboats are the best way. Alleppey has a moderate temperate and
humid climate in general and becomes more pleasant during the winter
season. In summers, Alleppey is humid and hot, making travel a little
uncomfortable. The best time to visit Alleppey is from August to March.
